Czech Participation in the 3rd General Assembly of DANUBIUS-ERIC in the Danube Delta

The 3rd General Assembly of DANUBIUS-ERIC, the European research infrastructure dedicated to the study of river ecosystems and their interactions with the marine environment, took place in Murighiol, Romania. The Czech Republic was represented at the meeting also through our participation, which forms part of the Czech engagement in this important European research infrastructure.
The programme included a visit to the unique Danube Delta, one of the key research sites of DANUBIUS-RI, as well as to the research centre under construction in the village of Murighiol. Once completed, the centre is set to offer state-of-the-art facilities for up to 300 researchers from a range of disciplines.
The meeting provided an important opportunity to discuss the further development of DANUBIUS-ERIC and, in particular, the involvement of Czech research teams in international collaboration and joint research on European river systems.
