Unified Identification of Landscape Vulnerability and Methodology for designing Adaptation Measures with Special Emphasis on Ecosystem Functions (JIZKES)

The main objective of the project is to create a joint mapping portal intended for assessing landscape vulnerability to the impacts of climate change, that contains a methodological framework for the design of various adaptation measures, based on prepared analyses of landscape vulnerability and a parallel assessment of the degree of fulfilment of selected ecosystem functions and services (EFS).

Specific objectives:

  • To compare national landscape vulnerability analysis approaches.
  • To apply national methodologies to the territory of the other country through pilot studies.
  • To develop a unified approach for the entire area of interest in the cross-border regions of Czechia and Slovakia.

Project phases:

  1. Carrying out landscape vulnerability analysis in both the Czech and the Slovak Republics.
  2. Conducting ecosystem services analysis.
  3. Applying the ecosystem functions and services (EFS) concept approach.
  4. Development of a methodology for designing adaptation measures for individual categories of landscape vulnerability.
